Rich, Reckless, and Unpunished? A high profile car accident in Hyderabad's Madhapur area has once again highlighted the privileged treatment of the rich and powerful in India.
On August 16th, Bharati Mukhi, a 26 year old salesgirl at Inorbit Mall, was killed by an Aston Martin driven by Lingamaneni Sanjush, the son of Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh.
Sanjush has been booked under section 106(1) of the Motor Vehicles Act for causing death by a rash or negligent act. However, no arrest has been made as the offence is bailable.
