The Unsung Hero of Hollywood's Golden Years Bruce Davis, the long time Executive Director of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, passed away on September 5 at the age of 83.
For over two decades, he was a behind the scenes force in shaping the way we experience cinema. Davis's career took an unconventional path after studying filmmaking at Columbia University.
He went on to chair the theater department at Juniata College in Pennsylvania before joining the Academy in 1989 as part of its public programming team.
